Astrology 2027: The Year's Major Transits and Key Dates
Every major 2027 transit with exact dates: Jupiter into Virgo, Saturn and Neptune in Aries, a Jupiter–Saturn fire trine, five eclipses, and what they mean for you.
If you want the shape of 2027 before the details: it’s a year of settling into new rooms. The outer planets spent 2024–2026 changing signs. Pluto went into Aquarius, Neptune and Saturn into Aries, Uranus into Gemini. In 2027 all four stay put, so the themes those moves opened become the furniture of daily life. The one big sign change of the year belongs to Jupiter, which leaves Leo for Virgo on July 26. Around it, the sky offers two rare things together: a long, easy Jupiter–Saturn trine in fire signs, and the longest total solar eclipse of the century, on August 2.
Every date below comes from the same engine that builds this site’s birth charts, not from someone else’s poster. Times are UT, and positions are tropical (Western).

Jupiter: Leo until July 26, then Virgo
Jupiter starts the year retrograde in Leo. It turned back on December 13, 2026 at 27° Leo and backs up to 17°, where it turns direct on April 13. Then it covers that ground a third time and crosses into Virgo on July 26, staying there until August 2028. Jupiter widens whatever it touches. In Leo, the year-long theme has been visibility, creative risk and being seen. In Virgo it turns practical: skills, health routines, the quality of everyday work, the satisfaction of doing something properly. It’s a less glamorous Jupiter, and often a more useful one.
That ingress comes with its own friction. On September 10, Jupiter in early Virgo squares Uranus in early Gemini, five days before Uranus stations retrograde at almost the same degree. Uranus sits nearly still, so the square stays close for weeks. Read it as a tug between a careful plan and a sudden better idea, which is lively if you leave room to improvise.
Saturn and Neptune: Aries all year
Saturn has been in Aries since February 14, 2026 and stays until April 13, 2028, so all of 2027 belongs to it. It moves from about 11° to 28° Aries and back to 21°. Saturn in Aries asks for self-direction you can sustain, as opposed to impulse. For anyone born between 1996 and 1999 it is also the first Saturn return, and 2027 is the busy middle of it for natal Saturns in the teens and twenties of Aries.
Neptune keeps it company. It entered Aries on January 26, 2026 for a stay of roughly thirteen years, and the two met in an exact conjunction on February 21, 2026, at the very start of the zodiac. In 2027 they are pulling apart, but the shared signature holds: the dream (Neptune) and the deadline (Saturn) now share a sign, the sign of beginnings. Astrologers tend to read the pairing collectively as new ideals that have to prove they can be built.
Uranus, Pluto and the long sextiles
Uranus stays in Gemini all year, between 1° and 10°, a placement associated with fast-changing information, communication technology and restless minds. Pluto stays in early Aquarius (3°–8°), deep in its two-decade stay. What makes 2027 unusual is how cooperative the slow planets are with each other. They form three harmonious aspects:
- Uranus sextile Neptune: exact January 15 and June 6. June 6 is the last exact pass of a series that began in 2025, the first since the 1960s.
- Uranus trine Pluto: exact June 15, the third of five passes running from July 2026 to May 2028.
- Neptune sextile Pluto: exact June 28 and October 16. The two have hovered around a sextile since the 1940s, one of the longest-running aspects of the modern sky, but 2026 brought the first exact hits since 1986, and the series runs on to 2032.
These are generational backdrops, felt in culture more than in your Tuesday. They become personal only when a planet in your own chart sits around 1°–10° of a sign, in aspect to them.
The Jupiter–Saturn fire trine
The headline aspect of the year is Jupiter in Leo trine Saturn in Aries, two fire signs in easy contact. It’s the waxing trine in the 20-year cycle that began with the December 2020 “Great Conjunction”, and it comes in three passes: August 31, 2026 (13° Leo/Aries), April 3, 2027 (17°) and July 11, 2027 (27°). Jupiter expands and Saturn structures, and when they cooperate the tradition calls it a good season to make ambitious plans concrete. Plans made around the April pass and finished around the July one fit that reading well. In your own chart it’s sharpest if you have planets in the middle-to-late degrees of fire signs.
Five eclipses on the Leo–Aquarius axis
The Moon’s nodes sit in Aquarius (North) and Leo (South) all year, so 2027’s eclipses gather there:
- February 6: annular solar eclipse at 17°38′ Aquarius, a ring of fire over South America and the Atlantic.
- February 20: penumbral lunar eclipse at 2°06′ Virgo.
- July 18: a penumbral lunar eclipse so shallow most calendars call it an ordinary full Moon.
- August 2: total solar eclipse at 9°55′ Leo, with over six minutes of totality near Luxor, the longest land totality of the century.
- August 17: penumbral lunar eclipse at 24°12′ Aquarius.
Eclipses are read as reset buttons for the house they fall in. With both solar eclipses on Leo and Aquarius, 2027’s resets play out between self and group: personal expression on one side, friendships and causes on the other.
What 2027 means for your sign
Big transits play out by house, and houses come from your rising sign. As a quick guide, using whole-sign houses from your Ascendant (your Sun sign works as a rough stand-in if you don’t know it):
| Rising sign | Jupiter: Leo → Virgo | Saturn + Neptune | Uranus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aries | 5th → 6th | 1st | 3rd |
| Taurus | 4th → 5th | 12th | 2nd |
| Gemini | 3rd → 4th | 11th | 1st |
| Cancer | 2nd → 3rd | 10th | 12th |
| Leo | 1st → 2nd | 9th | 11th |
| Virgo | 12th → 1st | 8th | 10th |
| Libra | 11th → 12th | 7th | 9th |
| Scorpio | 10th → 11th | 6th | 8th |
| Sagittarius | 9th → 10th | 5th | 7th |
| Capricorn | 8th → 9th | 4th | 6th |
| Aquarius | 7th → 8th | 3rd | 5th |
| Pisces | 6th → 7th | 2nd | 4th |
Look up what each house governs and you have the outline of your year. A Virgo rising, for example, gets Jupiter crossing the Ascendant in late July, the classic “personal fresh start” transit. A Libra rising meets Saturn and Neptune in the relationship house all year. If your chart uses Placidus houses, the boundaries can shift a little.
How to actually use this
A forecast is weather, not fate. The table tells you which seasons are windy, not what you’ll do in them. Three ways to make it personal:
- Find your rising sign. Calculate your birth chart (it’s free, runs in your browser and needs no account) and read your row in the table above. No birth time? Here’s how to narrow it down.
- Check for contacts. Note any planets you have at 15°–28° of fire signs (the Jupiter–Saturn trine), at 0°–10° of the mutable signs (Jupiter square Uranus), or near 10° Leo and 17° Aquarius (the solar eclipses).
- Follow it day by day. The daily horoscope tracks each of these transits against your saved chart as they happen.
Dates computed with this site’s ephemeris. Positions are tropical. In the Vedic (sidereal) zodiac each sits about 24° earlier, which is why Vedic calendars show Jupiter entering Virgo in November 2027 and Saturn reaching Aries only in June.
Reading about charts is one thing — seeing your own is another. It takes about thirty seconds.
