How compatibility by birth date works
Enter two dates of birth and the calculator reads them through three traditions at once. Each gives its own score, and the overall result weighs them together: Western zodiac signs count a little more, numerology and the Chinese zodiac a little less.
No time or place of birth is needed — that is the point of a date-only reading. Everything is worked out in your browser; the dates are not sent or stored anywhere.
Zodiac signs by date of birth
Your sun sign comes from the day and month you were born. Signs of the same element — fire, earth, air or water — tend to understand each other quickly, and fire with air or earth with water make natural complements. If you were born on the first or last day of a sign, your exact sign depends on the year and time; a birth chart settles it.

Life path numbers
In numerology, the life path number is the sum of every digit in your date of birth, reduced to a single digit. For 15 July 1990: 1+9+9+0+7+1+5 = 32, and 3+2 = 5. The sums 11, 22 and 33 are kept as master numbers.
The nine numbers fall into three families: 1, 5 and 7 are independent thinkers, 2, 4 and 8 are builders, and 3, 6 and 9 are feelers. Numbers from the same family pair most easily; thinkers and builders have the most to negotiate.
Chinese zodiac compatibility
The Chinese zodiac assigns an animal to each lunar year, and the year starts at Chinese New Year — in late January or February — so anyone born before it belongs to the previous animal. The calculator uses the exact New Year date for every year from 1920 to 2050.
Traditional pairings come in a few kinds: the six harmonies (Rat–Ox, Tiger–Pig, Rabbit–Dog, Dragon–Rooster, Snake–Monkey, Horse–Goat), the four trines of like-minded animals, the six harms, and the six clashes between opposite animals.
What a date can and can't tell you
A birth date captures only the broad strokes. The Moon, Venus, Mars and the rising sign — the placements astrologers lean on most for love — need the time and place of birth too, and they can change the picture completely.

It depends on Chinese New Year, which falls between 21 January and 20 February. Born before that year's New Year, you belong to the previous year's animal — the calculator checks the exact date for you.
What does a low score mean?
Only that the traditions see more differences than similarities. Differences can be the most interesting part of a relationship; a low score shows where patience and clear talk help most, not whether a couple will last.
